TIME WARNER DISPUTE ENDS IN FIRING

Culminating a protracted dispute between the top executives of Time Warner Inc.'s music division, Robert Morgado, chairman of Warner Music Group, was fired Wednesday and replaced by Michael Fuchs, one of the company's top TV executives.

Morgado was asked to resign by Gerald Levin, chairman and chief executive of Time Warner, after many complaints from the heads of the group's three major record labels: Warner Brothers, Atlantic, and Elektra/East West. At least two of them said Morgado was undermining the authority of his chief deputy and damaging Warner's reputation among performers.
