The U.S. Postal Service announced Thursday it would produce a new set of 20
32-cent stamps featuring some of the most popular, original and classic comic
strips. The stamps help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the appearance of
`The Yellow Kid' in the New York World newspaper, the first color feature
comic. The new issues are the latest `pop' culture stamps to be announced,
joining Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe among other popular subjects.
