`SOUNDINGS' INTERVIEWS NOVELIST

Novelist CLYDE EDGERTON discusses his new book "Redeye" at 1:30 p.m. Thursday on the radio program "Soundings" on Radford University's WVRU (89.9 FM). The novel - set in Colorado in the late 19th century - involves an itinerant undertaker, polygamists, American Indians and early tourism. Edgerton, considered one of the South's leading novelists, also wrote "The Floatplane Notebooks."

Roberts, 59, most recently of Memphis, has logged on-air experience in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Dallas and New Orleans. Roberts' show will be the first live program to originate from the New River Media group's new combined radio facility on U.S. 11 near Fairlawn. Eventually, the new site will house studios and sales offices for Eagle Country 107, WPSK (107.1 FM), WJJJ and Z-Rock 105, WVVV (104.9 FM)
