CHURCH TO DEDICATE ITS ADDITION|

The Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren on Virginia 730 in Floyd County will dedicate its new addition and extensive remodeling Sunday at 11 a.m.

The work makes the building fully accessible to those who cannot manage steps and adds several stained-glass windows and fresh carpeting. The 1,100-square-foot addition features a vestibule and a large entranceway to the sanctuary.

The main focus of the addition is a 5-by-10-foot mural window of "Christ in the Garden," facing the highway and lit at night.

Builder Percy Reed, a church deacon, did much of the work, donating his time over five months.

Beaver Creek Church is marking its 95th year. For the dedication, a potluck meal follows the morning worship. The Rev. Richard Thomas Sr., 745-2808.
