CASCADE MANUFACTURING UP AND RUNNING|

Cascade Manufacturing Inc., a contract assembly, packaging and distributing company, leased 17,000 square feet of Pete Price's building, Sanico Inc., in downtown Christiansburg last Monday. The company is already moved in and operating at the new location.

Cascade will employ 10 to 15 people over the next year and expects to grow in the near future.

Cascade provides services to companies that have outgrown their own facilities or want to test the marketability of a new product before committing to additional capital expense. Cascade's clients include companies from across the United States. Cascade also offers an alternative to companies that have experienced recent cutbacks in manpower and capital.

The Montgomery County Department of Economic Development assisted with bringing this project to the county. Don Moore, economic development director, said the area is "an excellent location for this distribution company because the community is within a day's drive of three-quarters of the nation's major markets."
