TEENAGE GIRL MAKES NRVS RACING DEBUT

Jennifer Fry, a 17-year-old high school junior from Honaker, will make her racing debut in the 25-lap Pure Stock feature of the ``Wendy's/Eagle Country 107-PSK 200'' Saturday night at New River Valley Speedway.

Fry has been racing in the women's Enduro events at Lonesome Pine International Raceway and has finished no lower than fourth.

Fry becomes the first female driver to compete at NRVS since Shelby Cundiff of Vinton stopped driving two years ago.

In addition to the Pure Stock race, Christiansburg's Ronnie Thomas will be seeking his fourth win in five starts in the 100-lap event for Late Model Stock Cars. Thomas will be using a 350 CMF carburetor due a new rule initiated by track officials.

Also on the card are 35 laps for the Limited Sportsman and 25 laps for the Mod Mini and Mini Stock drivers.

Gates open at 1:30 p.m., with practice at 3:30 p.m. Qualifying is at 5:45 p.m., with the first race at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under.
