ALBERT, Homer Elwood, 71, of McCoy, died Friday, Mday 5, 1995, at his home. Mr. Albert was born in Montgomery County on january 2, 1924, a son of the late Samuel Ellis and Sina Jane Akers Albert. He was retired from R.A.A.P. with more than 30 years of service. He was an active member and Elder of Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Christine Snider Albert, nine sisters and five brothers. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Judy A. and John Scott, Blacksburg, Jill A. Albert, McCoy; one son and daughter-in-law, William A. and Claudia Albert, Lynchburg; one granddaughter, Karen A. Scott, Charlotte, N.C.; two stepgrandchi ldren, Mike and Cindy Henning; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Alex Henning, all of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Ruby A. Smith, McCoy; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 1995, at Centennial Christian Church with the Rev. Gordon Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Centennial Building Fund, P.O. Box 427, McCoy, Va. 24111. BRYANT, Clayton L., 79, of Roanoke, died Friday, May 5, 1995. Arrangments by Oakey's North Chapel.

CHAPMAN, Preston, 66, of Wytheville, died Thursday, May 4, 1995 in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He had lived in St. Paul, Va. before coming to Wytheville in 1972. He was a retired Auto dealer and businessman, he was employed by the Wythe County School system as a bus driver for over 20 years. He was a member of the Bakers Chapel Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister of Abingdon, Va. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Akers Chapman, Wytheville; son, Larry P. Chapman, Wytheville; daughter, Donna Molinary, Wytheville; two grandchildren, Jeff Molinary, Misti Chapman, both of Wytheville; one sister-in-law, Frances A. Burress, Wytheville; three nieces also survive. Funeral services will be Sunday 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Grubb Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Earl Hanks and the Rev. Edward Rich ardson, with the interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. COE, Betty Ruth Holbrook, 49, and WHEELER, Cynthia Renee Coe, 28,(``Cindy"") of Austinville, died Thursday, May 4, 1995, from injuries received in an automobile accident. They were preceded in death by a son and brother, Nicholas Keith Coe. Mrs. Coe is survived by her husband, Allen Eugene Coe Sr. of the home; one daughter and sons-in-law, Phyllis Louise and Buford Grubb Jr. of Max Meadows, Jeyrld Edward Wheeler Jr. of Austinville; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen E. Jr. and Helen Coe of Austinville; five grandchildren, Joshua Grubb, Elizabeth Grubb, Amanda Saul, Paula ``P.J."" CRISMOND, Dorothy Elizabeth, 75, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday, May 3, 1995, in the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. DAWSON, Herman Swanson, 72, of Covington, died Thursday afternoon, May 4, 1995, in Alleghany Regional Hospital. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Hall Dawson, Covington; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Floyd Pritt, Roanoke; his son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Cindy Dawson, Hampton; three granddaughters, Mrs. Staley (Penny) Hutton, Miss Tracie Pritt, Miss Amanda Pritt, all of Roanoke; two great-grandchildren, Justin Hutton and Santana Hutton, both of Roanoke. DODSON, Bertha King, of Route 2, Ringgold, died Thursday night, May 4, 1995, in the Danville Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 10, 1926, in the Alleghany Springs Community of Montgomery County, Va., a daughter of the late Thomas Elbert King and Joyce Louis Conner King. Mrs. Dodson had been a resident of Ringgold since 1977, and was a member of the Ringgold Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Roger C. Dodson of the home; a daughter, Marie Dodson Henry, Fort Washington, Md.; three sons, David Roger Dodson, Richmond, Va.; Thomas Alvin Dodson, Winston-Salem, N.C. and Joseph Alan Dodson, Ringgold, Va.; two sisters, Inus King Hudson, Collinsville and Martha Mary King, Martinsville; five brothers, Ervine E. King and Melvin L. King, b oth of Bedford, Thomas A. King, Troutville, Kenneth N. King, Fincastle and Norman B. King, Salem; also six grandchildren. DOYLE, George Madison, 85, of Route 5, Martinsville, died Thursday, May 4, 1995, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/Henry Counry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard T. and Mary H. Doyle, and a brother, Henry R. Doyle, and a sister, Irene Doyle Love. Surviving are four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Pete and Ollie Doyle, Sydnorsville, Jessie and Edna Doyle, Snow Creek, Herbert O. Doyle, Eden, N.C. Windell and Aileen Doyle, Snow Creek; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen & Bob Woody, Martinsville, Inez Roberts, Collinsville; 11 nieces; 15 nephews. HUNT, Florence Richards, 60, of Route 3, Bassett, died Thursday, May 4, 1995. Born November 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Martha Trail Richards. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl B. Smith and Wayne Hunt, and also a brother, Bernice R. Richards. Surviving are one son, Michael E. Smith, Rocky Mount; two daughters, Judy Smith Sledd, Ashland; Kathy Hunt Gilley, Bassett; two grandsons, Adam M. Sledd and Kevin W. Gilley; one granddaughter, K. Michelle Smith; two brothers, J. Edward Richards and W. Curtis Richards, both of Martinsville; four sisters, Elva R. Atkins, Irene R. Crowe, Lila R. Crowe and Louise R. MAULTSBY, Andrew Jackson, 67, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, May 4, 1995. Mr. Maultsby was a member and deacon of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church, a member of the Sons of the Confederacy and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired optical salesman and is survived by his wife of 45 years, Hazel F. Maultsby; a sister, Maggie Belle Buxton; Sun City, Ariz.; his stepmother, Lettie Maultsby, Sanford, Fla. A graveside service will be held in Fair View Ceme tery, Saturday, May 6, 10 a.m. with the Dr. F. Tupper Garden officiating. MOOMAW, Cary A., 95, of Roanoke, dearly loved relative and friend, died Thursday, May 4, 1995 at home. He was born in Roanoke December 18, 1899, the eldest son of Cary Annas and Matilda Ankeney Moomaw. He was a graduate of the old Roanoke High School, and of Washington and Lee University, where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He was a life member of the Second Presbyterian Church. He worked as an accountant on construction projects in several states, and in Iceland, Brazil, Iran, Iraq, and Venezuela. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Theodore (Catharine) Morgan, Madison, Wisconsin; one brother, Edward C. (Ted) Moomaw, Sr., Roanoke; three nephews, Robert W. Miles, Brooklyn, N. Y., Edward W. Miles, Park Hills, Kentucky, Ted Moomaw, Jr., Roanoke; five nieces, Mrs. Charles (Marian Cary Miles) Zepp, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Stephanie Morgan, Pontianak, Indonesia, Mrs. Lon (Virginia Moomaw) Savage, Salem, Va., Marian Morgan, Charlottesville, Va., Laura Morgan, New York City; eight great-nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends. MORRIS, Irene Rupe, 83, of 502 South Madison Avenue, Pulaski, died Thursday, May 4, 1995, at her home. Born in Pulaski, March 8, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Earl Bentley Rupe Sr. and Nellie Bentley Rupe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Holmes Morris. ORANDER, Thomas J., 90, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, May 5, 1995, at his home. He was a building contractor in the Roanoke Valley for many years and was preceded in death by a son, Thomas J. Orander Jr. Surviving are his wife, Nellie Gieser Orander; three sisters-in-law and husbands, Wyome Gieser Howell and David J. Howell, Franklin County, Iris Gieser Sink and Glenn E. RICHARDSON, Flossie Wood, 86, of Martinsville, died Thursday evening, May 4, 1995, in Martinsville Convalescent Center. She was a member of the Kearfott Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Richardson was the wife of the late Oliver W. Richardson and was born in Henry County on March 31, 1909, to the late S. S. Wood and Lille Noland Wood. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie W. Griffith and Ilene W. Thomas. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Leon O. Richardson and Janet D. Richardson of Penhook; two grandchildren, Lisa Cross of Lexington, Ky., Jeff Richardson of Richmond; two great-grandchildren, Brent Cross, Olivia Cross; three brothers, Eugene Wood, Clifford Wood, both of Woolwine, Roy Wood of Ferrum. SCEARLES, Sherman Lee Jr., 26, of Rt. 1, Vinton, died suddenly Wednesday, May 3, 1995, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He is survived by his parents, Sherman L. and Betty L. WORKMAN, Clarence Raymond, (""Tad"") 70, of Moneta, died Wednesday, May 3, 1995, in a Franklin Hospital. He was born in Iron Gate and was a retired Insurance Agent of State Farm Insurance Company and was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Moneta, Va. Mr. Workman was also a past President of Kempsville Meadows Men's Golf Association; Past President of Kempsville Ruritan Club; Masonic Lodge in Roanoke; Khedive Shrine Temple, Norfolk; Scottish Rites Bodies, Roanoke; and received special honors as an Army Veteran of World War II, and upon graduation from V. P. I. Mr. Workman is survived by his wife, Blanche A. Workman, Moneta; 2 daughters, Mary Elizabeth Workman, Hot Springs, Va., and Rosemary Ann Warren, Va. Beach; 1 son and daughter-in-law, John Woodson and Michelle Workman, Chesapeake, Va.; 2 sisters, Muriel Hambrick, Clifton Forge, Va., Louise Mithchell, Moneta; 1 brother, James Workman, Russell, Kentucky; grandsons, Shelton Hunter Workman, Evan Thomas Marshall, both of Chesapeake.
