On the 29th lap, the race went under caution when the speedway crew had to sweep up parts of Lawhorn's front bumper after he tangled with Radford while trying to pass him.
Labaron Lawhorn finished second, and Steve Lynch was third. Jimmy Mullins placed fourth and Dennis Gardner finished fifth.
Speedway promoter Whitey Taylor had put a $500 bounty on Radford.
Bill Bratton of Covington won his first Street Stock race. Mike Elkins finished second, and Mike Dudley was third. Wayne Carprew finished fourth and David Stout was fifth.
In the Mini Stock division, Chris Martin got his fourth win and Jimmy Cox finished second after trading the lead with Martin eight times. Bobby Hurt placed third, Rodney Campbell was fourth, and Gary Joyce was fifth.
In the Pure Stock division, Dean Cannaday led until the last lap, where he and Jay Perry tangled. Perry won the race but later admitted that he had spun out Cannaday. Tommy Dooley was second and Neil Murray was third. Cannaday finished fourth and Doc Holliday was fifth.
Ray Turman won the rookie event and collected the $300 bounty by defeating Ricky Ferguson, who finished second. David Duncan was third, Scott Foley was fourth, and Chuck Floyd was fifth.
Chris Hatchett won the truck race.
