3 INJURED IN CAR CHASE

Three people were injured just before midnight Saturday when a woman who was charged with drunken driving, hit and run and resisting arrest collided with a car at South Jefferson and 22nd Street after a chase that reached 110 mph.

Trooper T.A. Steele said he pursued the woman south on Interstate 581 for speeding. Steele would not release the woman's name.

He said the woman would not pull over and, instead, sped away at more than 100 mph.

Exiting at Wonju Street, she drove down Franklin Road. She hit Steele's car at Carolina Avenue and 23rd Street and kept going. The wreck caused about $1,500 to $2,000 in damage to his car.

The woman spun her car around and headed in the opposite direction on Franklin Road. After running a stop sign, she hit a car with three passengers. The passengers' names and the extent of their injuries were not available.

The woman's 5-year-old daughter was riding with her. The woman, her daughter and the trooper were not injured.
