SHOTS FIRED INTO DJ BOOTH AT ROANOKE RADIO STATION

Eight shots were fired into the disc jockey booth of WROV-FM radio station at 15th Street and Cleveland Avenue Southwest early Monday. No one was inside the booth at the time.

About 2 a.m., disc jockey Stevie Lynn was outside the glassed-in FM booth that overlooks the rear parking lot of the radio station, according to Mike Slenski, the station's vice president and general manager. Lynn called police, who recovered eight shell casings. Three bullets penetrated the glass, Slenski said.

There was no apparent motive for the shooting, police said.

In another incident, police arrested a man after they saw him pointing a knife at another man in a house at 516 Loudon Ave. N.W. early Sunday.

Police gave this account: Officers were dispatched to the house after getting a report of a burglary in progress. They found the front door kicked in. When they entered, they saw a man pointing a knife at the 23-year-old resident of the house.

David Lee Fraction, 27, of the 2200 block of Hanover Avenue Northwest, was charged with burglary and malicious wounding. The resident was treated by rescue workers for a cut leg. Fraction and the resident knew each other, police said.
