ILLNESS SENDS WARNER TO HOSPITAL

Something in his travels through Virginia last week didn't settle well with Sen. John Warner.

The senior Republican senator checked into Bethesda Naval Hospital Sunday after traveling through the Virginia Beach and Williamsburg areas. A news release issued Tuesday said Warner was being treated for an "acute diarrheal illness" and a "transient irregular heartbeat."

Warner's staff couldn't elaborate on what might have caused Warner to fall ill, but he is expected to make a full recovery in the next few days.
