The Roanoke Valley Youth Soccer Club is conducting tryouts for the 1995-96 season at North Cross School.

The tryout schedules are based on participants' ages. Boys may try out May 30 and 31 and June 1,2 and 5.

The tryout dates for girls are May 29 and June 1.

Firefighters sponsor golf tourney for MDA

The Annual Spring Roanoke City Firefighters Local #1132/MDA Golf Tournament will be held May 22 at the Ole Monterey Golf Club.

The shotgun start is at 9 a.m. A $40 entry per person and a $160 fee per four-person team will include greens and cart fee, lunch and beverages.

The event, co-sponsored by the Ole Monterey Golf Club and Pepsi-Cola, is for firefighters and their guests only. All money must be turned in by Friday.
