WALKATHON TO BENEFIT BAPTIST CHILDREN'S HOME

An ``A Mile For A Child'' walkathon will be held today at 9 a.m., starting at Red Lane on the Virginia Baptist Children's Home Salem campus.

The event is a benefit for the Virginia Baptist Children's Home and Family Services.

Participants may choose a one- or three-mile route.

A goal of $50 per walker has been set. Walkers raising more than that through pledges will be eligible for prizes.

Residents of VBCH&FS will join the walk. Individuals who cannot walk but who would like to sponsor a child may designate contributions.

Registration will take place from 8:15-8:45 on the day of the walk.
