First-round leaders Jake Allison of Roanoke and Mark Teachey of Waynesboro held off a challenge from Martinsville's Keith Decker and Richmond's David Partridge to win the Virginia State Golf Association Four-Ball Championship on Sunday at Hidden Valley Country Club in Roanoke.

Both teams shot 67s in rainy, windy conditions on the 6,483-yard, par-71 course. After a front-side 34, Allison and Teachey birdied the 10th, 11th and 12th holes and finished with a two-day total of 131.

Decker and Partridge settled for second place at 133 and Mark Humphreys and Mike O'Keefe of Roanoke were third at 135.

Charlie Green of Tazewell and Mike Kurlich of Bluefield, the 1994 champions, tied for seventh at 137.
