The company said this week it is Gearhart-Stevens, Realtors, a partnership of G. William Gearhart, the former president of Lemon & Lambdon Inc., and Anne Lee Stevens, former vice president of residential sales with Waldrop Realty.
It will operate at the Lemon & Lambdon site at 4330 Old Cave Spring Road in Roanoke County with 11 agents.
Gearhart said David Lemon sold his share of the company to Stevens, but will remain with the firm in sales. The other agents from Lemon & Lambdon also will stay.
Gearhart said he and David Lemon bought out Don Lambdon and Curtis Lemon, the firm's founders, in 1984. The name was not changed at that time.
Gearhart-Stevens Realtors will specialize in residential, commercial, relocations, leasing and development.
Both partners have served as president of the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors. They each have been recognized as Realtor of the Year, and together they have received the association's meritorious service award. In addition, they both are directors of the Virginia Association of Realtors and the local and state professional standards and arbitration committee.
Gearhart is on the board of the National Association of Realtors, and Stevens is vice chairman of Region IV of the Virginia Association of Realtors.
Stevens said she and Gearhart "got to know each other while doing volunteer work and realized we had the complementary talents and disciplines that could build a great real estate company."
