BODY FOUND BURIED IN WYTHE

A body tentatively identified as that of a 19-year-old Henrico County man has been discovered in a shallow grave in Wythe County.

Henrico County authorities did not release the man's name Wednesday, pending positive identification and notification of family members. Nor were not they saying what led them to seek the grave in Wythe County, or if there is a suspect in the death.

State police in Wythe County assisted Henrico County officers in finding the body, which was in a makeshift grave off Sanders Mine Road (Virginia 619) about two miles south of Interstate 81's Exit 84.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the victim was beaten to death in the Richmond area, and the body then taken to the rural area of Wythe County to conceal it.
