LIBRARY GAY PRIDE EXHIBIT BANNED

The director of Fairfax County's libraries has banned a reference librarian's annual display commemorating Gay Pride Day.

Every June since the Tysons Corner branch library opened in 1985, Charles Keener has organized the display.

Keener, who said he is gay, planned a similar display this year at the Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library. But Fairfax Library Director Edwin S. Clay III told Keener's boss last week that he's had enough.

``It seems to me that it is time at that branch that we focus on a different topic,'' Clay said Wednesday.
