Morning air personality Levi Garrett emcees the Pulaski County competition, one of a dozen to be held around the two Virginias this year. Promising country music performers can win cash and prizes and get a chance to compete at the national final event, which offers a $50,000 grand prize and a recording contract.
KOOL Country plans to broadcast live from the Pulaski County event. It's open to vocal and instrumental performers - individuals or groups of up to seven members - who have not performed on a hit record within the last 18 months. It's $5 to enter.
