PEARISBURG - The Giles County Horse Show will be Sunday at the Old Circle B Stables on Virginia 100, south of Pearisburg.
The annual show is sponsored by the Triangle Ruritan Club. The National Barrel Horse Association will also sponsor a sanctioned show at this event. The NBHA is an international equine association that promotes the sport of barrel racing and its growth on local, state, national and international levels. The purpose of the organization includes increasing the number of applicants, improving the quality and safety of shows and enhancing the image of barrel racing. The NBHA is open to all barrel racers, from beginners to experts.
Admission to the horse show is $2 for adults, $1 for children under 12. Proceeds will be used for community service projects. The program will start at 2 p.m. For more information call Lee or Jean Eaton at 921-4363.
Sticker contest
BLACKSBURG - A bumper sticker contest is being sponsored by the Humane Society of Montgomery County. Contestants should design a one-color bumper sticker for the HSMC using the dimensions 2.75 inches high by 101/2 inches long. The winner will receive a movie video tape donated by King Video at the Marketplace.
Contest deadline is June 10. The HSMC wants to have the winning design available in time for Steppin' Out at the beginning of August.
Completed designs should be sent to HSMC, P.O. Box 287, Blacksburg, Va. 24063.
Bookmobile sign-ups
CHRISTIANSBURG - Young children and young adults can register for the Montgomery County Bookmobile and the Floyd County Bookmobile of the Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library. Registration will be June 5-12.
Children through the fifth grade can register to be Amazing Library Kids - this year's theme. There will be weekly incentives for children who read books, participate in activities and for visiting the bookmobile.
Children participating in Amazing Library Kids can also attend weekly activities and programs at their nearest branch library. Activities include a T-shirt workshop, puppet show and a play. There will be a party to recognize students who participated in the program at the end of the summer.
Young adults - sixth grade and up - can register to participate in the Readers of the Roundtable. These participants will read a lot of "Camelot" and uncover information and experience adventures. During each visit to the bookmobile or branch library, readers can enter for a drawing of special prizes that will take place at the end of the summer reading. A "gold card," free book and gift certificates are some of the incentives for participating in the Readers of the Roundtable.

Floyd County Bookmobile: June 5-17, summer reading registration; June 20-July 1, Amazing Dragon Mask kit.
