Several AARP officials and representatives for Sen. Charles Robb, D-Va., Sen. John Warner, R-Va., and Rep. Rick Boucher, D-Abingdon, are scheduled to attend the meeting to hear concerns, said AARP district director Oather Duncan of Radford.
Also scheduled to be on hand are Bob Haas, state director of the AARP, and other state and local AARP leaders.
Montgomery Regional Hospital Chief Executive Officer and President Gene Wright will speak at the meeting as well.
AARP has more than 33 million members across the United States. The organization addresses issues relating to older Americans.

The Radford Senior Center's ceramic class won ribbons in amateur and professional categories at the 25th annual Virginia Hobby Ceramics and Craft Show last month in Richmond. Amateur awards went to Marie Abee, Frances Bowyer, Betty Craig, Daisy Graham, Glada Hall, Marie Jackson and Sharron Starnes. Mary Jane Harmon won several ribbons - including several first place - in the professional competition.
Montgomery County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program wants canning jars and lids for its apple butter project. Volunteers will sell the condiment at the Wilderness Trail Festival this fall. For pickup, call 382-5775.
Senior Poetry Contest: New River Community College has announced its 17th annual poetry contest for seniors age 60 and older. To be eligible, poems must be original, fewer than 60 lines, and never published. Participants may submit up to three poems. The entry deadline is July 31.
