TRIGON NAMES RONALD BROWN TO NEW POST

RONALD E. BROWN has joined Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield as vice president for the newly created office of consumer affairs and corporate compliance. Brown brings 15 years of experience as a consumer advocate to Trigon.

He had been director of consumer services for Hasbro Inc. in Pawtucket, R.I., since 1989. Prior to joining Hasbro, he was manager of consumer affairs with Kellogg Co. in Battle Creek, Mich., and consumer affairs-customer relations representative for the People's Natural Gas Co. in Pittsburgh.

ACCOUNTING

The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants has elected its board of directors for 1995-96: From the Central Virginia chapter, DOROTHY E. BIRCH of Forest has been named to the board. She is general accounting manager at C.B. Fleet Co. Inc. in Lynchburg. From the Piedmont chapter are JAMES K. SELLS, president of Sells, Hogg & Jones certified public accountants in Martinsville; and KATHERINE DAVIS McDANIEL, senior staff accountant at Harris, Harvey, Neal & Co. in Danville. From the Roanoke chapter are DAVID LOWEN, president of Foti, Flynn, Lowen & Co.; J. MICHAEL WILLIAMS, tax manager for Carilion Health System and the current Roanoke chapter president; ALEXANDER BOWMAN JR., a partner at Anderson & Reed in Roanoke; RICHARD CRABBS, vice president of Scearce and Crabbs in Roanoke; KENNETH PRICKETT, director of Young & Prickett in Roanoke; and WAYNE LEININGER, director of the accounting department at Virginia Tech.

BANKING

MARTHA SHIFFLETT has joined Crestar Bank as vice president, commercial account manager. She will be responsible for hospitals, universities, municipalities and upper-market commercial accounts in Crestar's Western Region and for middle-market commercial accounts in Roanoke. Before coming to Crestar, Shifflett was vice president and business development officer for NationsBank in Roanoke.

RUSTAM WADIA has been promoted to vice president of NationsBank in Roanoke. He is the community investment coordinator for Central, Southside and Southwest Virginia, and the New River, Roanoke and Shenandoah valleys, where he is responsible for the bank's community investment program. Wadia started his career with NationsBank in 1986.

HEALTH CARE

LIZ ERWIN, registered nurse and licensed professional counselor, has joined Salem Counseling Associates, where she will specialize in weight-related disorders, sexual abuse issues and adult and child attention deficit disorders.

LAW

THOMAS R. BAGBY has joined the Roanoke firm of Woods, Rogers & Hazlegrove in an of counsel position specializing in labor and employment law. The Roanoke native comes from the Washington, D.C., office of Epstein, Becker & Green, where he was a partner and has practiced since 1986. Before that, he was in private labor and employment practice with another Washington firm. Prior to going into private practice, Bagby spent four years with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, as a trial attorney and was a clerk in the District of Columbia for U.S. District Court Judge June L. Green for two years.

ORGANIZATIONS

DAVID DIXON, controller of National Diabetic Pharmacies in Salem, has been elected to a three-year term on the board of the Virginia Affiliate Inc. of the American Diabetes Association.

ELIZABETH BOWER has been elected president of Roanoke Regional Medical Group Managers Association and KATHY COWAN has been elected to the board. Bower is an administrator for Roanoke Orthopaedic Center and Cowan is an administrator for Vista Eye Center.

RETAIL

ROBBIE BROOKSHIER has joined Farrell Ford-Pontiac-Mazda in Salem as general sales manager. Brookshier has more than 11 years of sales and sales management experience in the automotive industry. Before coming to Farrell, he was employed as a sales manager at Shelor Automotive in Christiansburg.

TELE-

COMMUNICATIONS

D. MICHAEL FULTZ has joined Networking Solutions in Roanoke as co-owner and executive vice president. He brings 21 years of telecommunications experience to the company. Previously, he was director of sales and marketing for Executone of Roanoke. Before that, he was with Alltel Inc. and Roanoke-Botetourt Telephone Co.

GERALD GALLIMORE, operations manager for Citizens Telephone Cooperative in Floyd, has been elected secretary of the Virginia Telecommunications Industry Association, formerly the Virginia Telephone Association. STANLEY CUMBEE, general manager of Pembroke Telephone Cooperative, has been elected to the board of directors of the association.

UTILITIES

GEORGE R. GOODE SR. and W. EDWARD GRAHAM, both of Clifton Forge, have been named to the customer advisory board of Virginia Power. Goode was an employee of CSX for 35 years, was mayor of Clifton Forge for 10 years and a member of Clifton Forge City Council, and is a former chairman and current member of the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Authority. Graham is director of the Jackson River Technical Center, a board member of the Alleghany-Highlands Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Workforce Services Committee of the Alleghany-Highlands Economic Development Authority, and a member of the Virginia Employment Commission Employer's Advisory Council. Virginia Power sells electricity in portions of Alleghany, Bath, Bedford, Botetourt and Rockbridge counties.
