1 KILLED, 3 INJURED IN DISPUTE

A domestic dispute in Pulaski early Sunday ended in the stabbing death of one man and the wounding of three others.

The fight occurred at the Pulaski Market on Valley Street just after 1 a.m., according to a Pulaski Police news release.

Police found Windell Jackson Edwards, 31, of Dublin dead of a stab wound, the release said.

Tony Wayne Covey, 26, of Wytheville was treated at Pulaski Community Hospital for a stab wound and head trauma and transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Charles Thomas Crowder III, 27, of Pulaski was admitted to Pulaski Community Hospital for a stab wound to the abdomen.

No information was available on their conditions.

David Eugene Covey, 24, of Pulaski was treated for a broken nose at Radford Community Hospital and released, according to the release.

Pulaski police have arrested and charged Johnny Ray Pope, 23, of Pulaski and Terrance Wade Edwards, 29, of Dublin with the malicious wounding of Tony Covey, the release said.

Both were free on bond from the Pulaski County Jail on Sunday.

The release did not say if Terrance Edwards is related to Windell Edwards, or if Tony Covey and David Covey are related. A fight is usually not called a domestic dispute, however, unless family members are involved.

The death and other woundings are under investigation, but no other arrests had been made Sunday night.
