WOMAN LINKED TO DELI ROBBERY

Vinton police charged Loretta Lynn Jessee, 27, of Southeast Roanoke Tuesday in the Dec. 10 robbery of the Subway restaurant at Lake Drive Plaza.

On the night of the robbery, a woman entered the restaurant and handed the clerk a note demanding money, Sgt. M. A. Vaught said.

The woman told the clerk she had a gun in her pocket but never showed a weapon. The clerk said the woman was wearing a long black coat, a hood, gloves and a scarf that revealed 2 inches of her face.

Jesse already faces a maximum of two life sentences after pleading guilty to robbing Central Fidelity Bank at 4143 Franklin Road on Jan. 31, and to robbing Southwest Virginia Savings Bank at 2133 Electric Road the next day. She was being held in the Roanoke County Jail when charged with the Subway robbery.

Vaught said a handwriting analysis linked Jesse to the Subway robbery .

Vaught said Jessee is being held without bond.
