Branch Highways Inc. of Roanoke has received an $800,000 contract with Campbell County for a closure cap on the Campbell County Landfill near Rustburg. The project is to be completed this summer.
Also, the company has received a $7 million contract with the North Carolina Department of Transportation to rebuild, widen and relocate portions of State Route 18 near Moravian Falls. The 6.7-mile project is to be completed in July 1997.
General contractor Branch & Associates Inc. has received a $6.9 million contract to build a new courts building for Henry County. The 69,600-square-foot structure, adjacent to the Henry County Administration Center in Collinsville, is to be completed in August 1996.
The Branch Group Inc., parent of the Branch companies, has been ranked the nation's 172nd largest contractor by Engineering News-Record, a trade publication. The ranking is based on the value of the company's contracts in the past year.

PR companies win awards
Two Roanoke companies have won honors at the 48th annual Virginia Public Relations Awards competition in Richmond.
Lin Chaff Public Relations and Advertising won a gold award and top honors for its "save the museum" campaign for the Virginia Museum of National History at Martinsville. Also, John Lambert Associates won a certificate of merit for a campaign for Rockydale Quarries in its effort to obtain a permit to open a quarry in Franklin County.

Children's grants available
The Foundation for Roanoke Valley is seeking requests for grants from its Roanoke Valley Children's Fund.
An estimated $8,000 is expected to be available this year from an endowment for needs of children from before birth to age 6. Organizations in Botetourt, Craig and Roanoke counities and Roanoke and Salem should apply by June 30.
