TYPEWRITER GUN INSPIRES SONG SATIRIST

The discovery of a loaded gun in Willie Lloyd Turner's death-house typewriter is quickly becoming a political embarrassment, but that hasn't stopped a Richmond musical satirist from finding humor in the episode.

A man using the name ``Billy Bankrupt'' wrote and recorded a song called ``Willie and the Handgun'' - sung to the tune of "Willie and the Hand Jive" - and delivered the tape to Richmond radio station WRVA this week.

It was played on ``The Doug Wilder Show'' Wednesday morning, said the program's executive producer, Glenn Davidson.

Davidson isn't sure who ``Bankrupt'' is, but he recalls how the singer parodied Democrat Wilder during his term as Virginia governor.

Davidson said he's happy to see that Bankrupt is nonpartisan, lampooning Republican Gov. George Allen in his latest ditty.
