AYERS, George Wilson, 76, of Route 1, Union Hall, died Friday, June 2, 1995, at his residence. He was born November 28, 1918 and farmed all of his life. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Fannie Perdue Ayers; a foster son and wife, Dickie and Brenda Perdue, Gretna; one brother and sister-in-law, James C. and Irene Ayers, Union Hall; three sisters, Lottie Ayers, Union Hall, Mattie Ayers Smith and Nannie Bet Hubbard, both of Bassett; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Claude C. (Tom) and Ruth Perdue, Rocky Mount; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Lewis Arnold and the Rev. Belle Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in the Ayers Family Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Glade Hill Rescue Squad, P O. Box 82, Glade Hill, Va. 24092. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 342 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.

CAMPBELL, Edward Lee, 64, of 2917 Armfield Ave., Burlington, N.C., died Friday, June 2, 1995. Mr. Campbell was a son of the late Edward Lee Campbell Sr. and Nina Green Robertson. He was retired from the General Electric Company, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, a member of the Bula Masonic Lodge #409 A.F & A.M., a member of the Scottish Rite and the Amran Temple, and U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Francis ``Boots"" Campbell, of the home; and mother, Mrs. Nina Green Robertson of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 1995, at Rich & Thompson Chapel, Burlington, N.C. with Dr. Charles Williams, Pastor, Fi rst Presbyterian Church of Burlington. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park in Roanoke. A Masonic graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 5, 1995. The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Morturary in Burlington from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday and other time at the residence. Memorial may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 317 N. COX, James Buddy, 63, of Roanoke County, died Thursday, June 1, 1995. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served as Sunday School Teacher and Deacon at Greenridge Baptist Church. Mr. Cox was a building contractor. He is survived by his wife, Rebekah Taylor Cox; children and their spouses, Debbie and Pete Tyree, Chesapeake, Jimmy and Debbie Cox, David and Renee Cox, Michael and Jori Cox, all of Roanoke, Barry and Melanie Cox, Goode, Andrew and Kimberly Cox, Salem, Jamie Cox, Roanoke and fiancee, Michele Moses; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Austin Cox, Don Cox; sisters, Irene Thornhill, Louise Collins, Florence Guilliams, Linda Smith, Nancy Bailey. Funeral services will held 12 noon Saturday, June 3 at Greenridge Baptist Church with the Rev. J. Michael Palmer and the Rev. Rick Elmore officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. DIXON, Freda L., 70, of Stanleytown, died June 2, 1995. Funeral Sunday, June 4, at 2 p.m. Roselawn Funeral Chapel.

DUNCAN, Wilma Kathleen, 81, of Radford, died Friday, June 2, 1995, at Radford Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Basil Duncan. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Arthur Bruce and Nancy Duncan of Radford and John N. Duncan of Dublin; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ira Lee Weikle of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Jack Carden of Belspring; also survived by four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 7, 1995 at 2 p.m. from the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dannie Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Hickman Cemetery in Pulaski County. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home. EUNICE, Florence Jarrett Throckmorton, 80, of Vinton, died Thursday, June 1, 1995 at the Birkshire Health Care Center, Vinton. She was preceded in death by a son, James (Rock) Throckmorton; and second husband, George S. Eunice. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jackie Dee and Alice Throckmorton, Hampton Sydney; one grandson and wife, Denny and Becky Throckmorton, Staunton; one granddaughter and husband, Carolyn and Delbert Dove, Richmond; three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; a special ex-daughter-in-law and husband, Dottie and Ralph Hale, who had cared for her many, many years, Vinton; numerous nieces and nephews in Roanoke, North Carolina and California. Graveside Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Burial Park by the Rev. Charles Hoffler. Friends may call at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel.

HICKOK, Virginia Shelton, 83, of Christiansburg, died early Friday, June 2, 1995, in the Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was the widow of Robert L. Hickok and a native of Christiansburg. She was a lifelong, active member of the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church and currently a resident of English Meadow Retirement Center. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara and Don McClintock, Katherine Lynn Hickok, all of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Laura M. Prussin, of Bartlett, Tenn., Donald G. McClintock Jr., Seneca, S.C. and Mary Brandon McClintock of Clemsen, S.C.; five great-grandchildren; one brother, William Raper Shelton, Christiansburg; and one sister, Mrs. Nan Andrews of Blacksburg. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 4, 1995, at 3 p.m. from the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. Leighton Culler. Friends may call at the residence 95 Cherry Lane at anytime and the family will also receive friends in the church parlor following the memorial service Sunday afternoon. MASON, Harry Adams, (``Creepy''), 87, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, June 2, 1995. He was a retired machinist from Automotive Machine Shop and avid hunter and fisherman, and an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Edith Mason and Mrs. Bessie M. Coffman, both of Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services with Military Rites will be conducted from the graveside, Evergreen Burial Park, at 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. C. Nelson Harris officiating. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, where the family will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

McGILL, Mary Boyce, of Kings Mountain, N.C., died Thursday, June 1, 1995. Among her survivors is a sister, Mrs. Nair M. Jones, Vinton. Arrangements by Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, N.C.

MICHIE, Joyce Thompson, died June 1, 1995 in Riverside Regional Medical Center. She was born in Oak City, North Carolina and was a long time resident of Newport News, VA. She was a Christian and a member of North Riverside Baptist Church where she had been active with the youth and the choir. She retired from the Virginia Baptist Children's Home in Salem,VA., after twelve years where she spent her last two years working in the developmentally disturbed ministry. She was the house manager in the Ruth Kelly Memorial Group Home in Fredericksburg from 1993-1994. Mrs. Michie is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Fred Michie Jr.; her son, Fred Michie III of Yorktown; one sister, Jean Bunch of Henrico, N.C.; one brother, Robert Thompson of Richmond; and two grandchildre n, Karyn Buckley of Yorktown and John Michie of Richmond. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Weymouth Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at North Riverside Baptist Church, 311 Selden Rd., Newport News, by the Reverends John Carpenter and R. Furman Kenney. SMITH, Anthony Preston, 30, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday June 1, 1995. He was an employee of Shoney's Restaurant. Survivors include one daughter, Mercedes Faye Riley; two sisters, Betty Jean Smith and Michelle Lee Smith; grandmother, Evelyn W. Smith; a devoted friend, Michelle Elliott, all of Roanoke.
