MARTIN WINS HIS FIFTH RACE OF '95 AT FCS

Chris Martin picked up his fifth victory of the season Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway, beating Travis Sharpe and rain to win the Wix Filters/Rainbo Bread 300 Mini Stock Car race.

Sharpe led the first 15 laps, but Martin took over the lead on lap 16 after a caution period because of rain. Sharpe, who at 14 is the youngest regular driver at the speedway, finished second. Wayne Roach Jr. was third, with James Hunt (fourth) and Rick Janney (fifth) completing the top five.

Whitey Taylor, the track's promoter, announced that ticket prices will be $5 for the rest of the season, starting with the Star City Auto Parts 300 at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Gates open at 2 p.m. For information, call 483-0713.
