CATRON, James F. Sr., 71, of Marion, died Saturday, June 3, 1995, at his home in Marion. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army in Germany. He was a member of the Smyth County Chamber of Commerce, a life time member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Marion VFW Post #4667, and a member of the American Legion Post #18. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Catron Sr., and his brother, Charles (""Scrap"") C. Catron Jr. He is survived by his wife, Coral Lee Routh Catron, of Marion; two sons and daughters-in-law, James (""Jimmy"") and Anita Catron Jr., and Johnny and Tina Catron, all from Marion; five sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Frances) Funk, of Marion, Ms. Pauline C. Bush, of Lebanon, Va., Mrs. William (Virginia ) Mason, of Marion, Mrs. Harry (Imogene) Duncan, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Mrs. Edward (Reba) Bridges, of Atkins; one granddaughter, Leanna Brooke Catron; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Tuesday, June 6, 1995, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roger Frost and Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery where the military rites will be conducted by VFW Post #4667. The family will receive friends Monday, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. CROWDER, Timothy Jerrell, 23, of Falling Waters, W. Va., died Friday, June 2, 1995 in Kearneysville, W. Va. Born June 22, 1971 in Staunton, Va., he is the son of Jerrell Wayne and Melody Eichelberger Crowder of Falling, W. Va. He was a graduate of Hedgesville High School, Class of '90. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Rachel Ann Hendershot, Berkeley Springs, W. Va.; his grandparents, Wilber R. and Dorothy B. Crowder, Troutville, Va., Dorothy Eichelberger, Berkeley Springs, W. Va.; a brother, Jerrell Dwayne Crowder, Martinsburg, W. Va.; two sisters, Debra Ann Stevenson, Falling Waters, W. Va., Jennifer S. Brown, Berkeley Springs, W. Va.; his fiancee, Jo Anne Cogle, and her children, Andrea, C.J., and Krystie; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Brown Fun eral Home with Rev. Edward E. Rogers officiating with interment in the Rosedale Cemetery. IRVINE, Marshall Almond Sutton, 83, of Lexington, died Sunday, June 4, 1995, at his residence. He was born June 29, 1911 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Robert Lee Irvine and Hannah (Berry) Irvine. Mr. Irvine was a member and deacon of Manly Memorial Baptist Church, Lexington. He retired from Burlington Industries in 1974. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Eloyd (Mahoney) Irvine. Survivors include his son, Norbert White Irvine, Asheville, North Carolina; two daughters, Ms. Sarah Marshall Irvine, Boulder, Colorado, and Ms. Linda Carol Irvine, Columbia, Maryland; a sister, Mrs. Christine P. Irvine, Lexington; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 1995 in Manly Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. NECESSARY, C. H. Jr., 53, of Millers Creek, N.C., father of Lee Ann Necessary, WSLS TV anchor, died Thursday, June 1, 1995 at Stanford University Medical Center. Mr. Necessary was born April 11, 1942 in Roanoke, Va. to Hubert and Ruth Osborne Necessary. He is survived by his wife, Ann Rita Harris Necessary, of the home; two daughters, Lee Ann Necessary, Roanoke, Adrienne Necessary, Raleigh, N.C.; one son, Rustin Necessary, of the home; one sister, Patty Casstevens, Winston-Salem, N.C.; two brothers, Tom Necessary, Wilkesboro, N.C. and Roger Necessary, Yadkinville, N.C. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro. Burial will be in the Old Millers Creek Methodist Church Cemetery. He was retired from Singer Furniture Company and was preceded in death by his parents, Lester C. and Maggie Scruggs, also a sister, Viola S. Ferguson. Surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Eula and Herman Cundiff, Huddleston, Lydia S. (Tunny) Meadow, Roanoke, Elizabeth S. and Curtis Dillon, Roanoke; brothers and sister-in-law, Maylon Scruggs, Rocky Mount, George and Phyllis Scruggs, Salem, Billy C. Scruggs, Roanoke; also a special friend, Frances Buchanan, Roanoke; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. SONGER, Carrie Ellen, 72, of Narrows, passed away quietly at home Saturday, June 3, 1995. She was born August 19, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Amos Edward and Virgie Blankenship Turpin. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Songer, nine brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Narrows. Surviving are her husband, Woodrow Darnell Songer, Narrows; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Sandra Songer, Floyd; four grandchildren, Michell Scott and husband, Jeff, Pearisburg, Stacey Songer, Narrows, Junnifer Songer, Christiansburg, and Brittany Songer, Floyd; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 1995 in the chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service, with the Rev. Rick Painter and the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Narrows. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Riffe's Funeral Service, 600 E. Main St., Narrows, Va.
