SEAMAN APPRENTICES CHRISTOPHER T. McVEY and RICHARD E. ELLIS have graduated from training at the Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J.

McVey is the son of John T. and Betty F. McVey of Vinton, and Ellis is the son of James R. and Betty H. Ellis of Vinton. Both are 1994 graduates of William Byrd High School.

LANCE CPL. LARRY M. WORRELL, son of Larry M. and Priscilla H. Worrell of Roanoke, returned recently from a six-month deployment that included duty off the coast near Bosnia-Herzegovina while serving with a Marine Expeditionary Unit.

He is a 1991 graduate of William Byrd High School.

SGT. DENNIS S. WILEY, son of Harvey Barbour of Roanoke, returned recently from a six-month deployment that included duty off the coast near Bosnia-Herzegovina while serving with a Marine Expeditionary Unit.

PVT. DANIEL P. ROGERS, son of Daniel E. Rogers and Linda Muse of Roanoke, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C. He is a 1990 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.

LARRY A. HALL, a 1993 graduate of Patrick Henry High School, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C.

NAVY SEAMAN RECRUIT KATHY L. LLOYD, daughter of Elizabeth A. Lloyd of Roanoke, recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Lloyd is a 1991 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.

SEAMAN JASON T. MORRIS, son of Larry S. and Carol G. Mattox of Vinton, has completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

He is a 1989 graduate of William Byrd High School and a 1993 graduate of Radford University.
