TUCK SEEKS PULASKI SCHOOL BOARD RE-ELECTION

Dr. Nathan Tuck will seek re-election to the Pulaski County School Board as the Massie District representative.

Tuck, who owns chiropractic clinics in Pulaski, Fairlawn, Christiansburg and Galax, is the only board member who has represented two districts.

He was appointed as the Draper District representative in 1983 and served until June 1991, when he moved to the Massie District.

When a vacancy occurred in the Massie District that September, Tuck was one of four candidates nominated for the spot. Tuck was the Board of Supervisors' unanimous choice.

The supervisors reappointed Tuck to the Massie District seat last year, when he was the only nominee.

Tuck, 42, is a Roanoke native. He graduated with honors from Emory & Henry College in 1974 and the National College of Chiropractic in 1978. He has 12 years of experience on the School Board

Jeff Bain, a real estate appraiser for 10 years, announced in May that he will seek the Massie seat this year in the county's first School Board election.

Bain also was nominated in 1991, the year Tuck received the appointment.

Bain, who has said he would push for more openness at School Board meetings, also has been a bank officer and owner of a construction and development company.
