The hotel's occupants were quickly moved out of the building's nine apartments. There were no injuries.
Around 7 p.m., high winds picked up the building's rolled seam tin roof and "peeled it back like a carpet," according to Ann Angert, executive director of the Giles County Housing and Development Corp.
