BLACKSBURG - Phi Zeta, a veterinary honor society, has established a $250 scholarship at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. The scholarship, to be given to a third-year student upon his or her induction into Phi Zeta, will provide financial support for off-campus training clerkships. The top 10 percent of each third-year class and the the top 25 percent of each fourth-year class are inducted into Phi Zeta.
Summer enrichment
CHRISTIANSBURG - A summer enrichment program for people with mental retardation will run from June 26 to July 27.
The program, open to people 6 to 22 years of age and sponsored by the New River Valley Agency for the Mentally Retarded, will include swimming, field trips, classes, guest speakers, and other activities. The cost is $50, and scholarships and transportation are available. For information and to register, call 381-0310.
