SOFTBALL SWATTINGS: Nearing the halfway point of the season in the Pulaski Men's League, Hudson's and Golden Corral continue unbeaten and atop the standings.

Both are 12-0, three games in the loss column ahead of three teams: Pulaski Community Hospital (12-3), Volvo (9-3) and Value Hardware (8-3).

Last week, 195 was the number for Hudson's. In the 25-12 win over True Value Hardware, DAVID ALDERMAN ripped a pair of home runs, giving him 195 for his career. RANDY LAWRENCE had three homers and seven runs batted in while MATT DEAN hit two round-trippers. In the 35-1 win over Swamp Rats, pitcher KEITH TURMAN picked up career pitching victory 195. RONNIE HAMBLIN, JOEY BOWER and Dean each hit two home runs in the win.

Likewise, Golden Corral kept pace with power and pitching. CONLEY HICKS allowed just a second-inning run and STEVE ALLEY went 3-for-3 with a homer in a 28-1 win over BBA Friction. Then B.W. HILL and RANDALL MORRIS each homered twice and Hicks went 4-for-4 as Golden scored the last six runs to beat Sandi-Mode 22-16.

The two teams are likely to remain tied or a while. Their first meeting was rained out and they now will meet twice near the end of the season.
