BLAIR, Ernest Elwood, 78, of Galax, died Sunday, June 11, 1995. Graveside service was held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Felts Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Vaughan-Guynn.

BOWER, Lucille Britt, 89, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 14, 1995 at Radford Community Hospital. She was the widow of Kyle Bower Sr. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kyle Jr. and Carol C. Bower; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara B. and Leo Middleton Jr., and Betty B. and James D. Dunford, all of Christiansburg; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. D. O. Weaver Jr. with interment in Sunset Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Gateway Christian Academy, 2196 Harding Road, Blacksburg, Va. or the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. BRADLEY, Jesse Eugene, 76, of Vesuvius, died Tuesday, June 13, 1995. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, Harrison Funeral Home Chapel, Lexington.

BRANCH, Lucy H., 66, of Salem, died Wednesday, June 14, 1995, at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem. She was the beloved mother of Craig Wilkins and Rachelle Williams; grandmother of Alison, Lucy, John, Matthew, and Jayson. We will greatly miss her presence, but rest in the comfort that she is in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. Other survivors include eight brothers and sisters, Dean, Jane, Laura, Keith, George, Lyle, Marvin, and Joy. Memorial services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel 1 p.m. Friday, June 16 with the Rev. Dirk Moody officiating. In lieu of flowers, you may send donations to the American Lung Association.

CRAIG, Bernard R., 87, of Martinsville, died Wednesday, June 14, 1995. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, McKee Funeral Chapel.

CUNDIFF, Terry Wayne, 36, of Rocky Mount, passed away Tuesday, June, 13, 1995. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank C. Hall. Mr. Cundiff is survived by his parents, Ruben (Pump House) and Gracie Hall Cundiff; six sisters and five-brothers-in-law, Betty and Teddy Meeks, Darlene and Carlton Steger, Ann and Dan Weaver, Melissa and Danny Ramsey, Ala and Billy Ramey, Myrtle Cundiff, all of Rocky Mount; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Tina Cundiff, Rocky Mount; also several nieces and nephews; two special friends, Larry Hall and Alton Maxey. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, 1995, at the Arrington-Bussey Chapel with the Rev. Bud Roth officiating. Interment will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery. DUNCAN, Richard V., (""Tommy""), 39, of Shawsville, formerly of Catawba, died Monday, June 12, 1995. He is survived by his parents, Roy L. and Bernice C. Law, Catawba; five brothers, William (""Dilly"") Law, James Law, John Law, and Paul Law, all of Catawba, Jay Law, Blacksburg; five sisters, Amy Smith, Donna Saunders, both of New Castle, Patty Johnson, Debbie Woods, both of Salem, Donna Caldwell, Catawba; eight nephews; four nieces. Funeral services will be Friday 2 p.m at the New Canterbury Church. Burial will be in the Law family cemetery. GIBSON, Roy L. Sr., 87, of Bluefield, W.Va., died Tuesday, June 13, 1995, in a Bluefield Hospital. He is survived by a son, Rev. Roy L. Gibson Jr. of Dublin; along with three daughters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Memorial Funeral Directory Chapel on the Athens Road in Princeton, W.Va. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Bluefield, W.Va. HARRIS, Annie Phibbs, 75, of Hillsville, died on Monday, June 12, 1995, at the home of her daughter in Virginia Beach. A native of Hillsville, she resided in the Tidewater area for a number of years where she retired from the General Electric Company and was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Chesapeake. She is survived by one son, Larry Roger Harris; one daughter, Freda Ann Harris of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mary Lee Grinnell of Chesapeake, Esther French of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one brother, Maynard Phibbs of Brooksville, Fla. She was the sister of the late Dexter Phibbs. She leaves to cherish two grandchildren, Greg Miller of Sparta, N.C., and Jimmy Harris of Silver Springs, Md.; two great-grandchildren, Brad and Josh Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She is the daughter of the late Laudie S. Phibbs and Zelma Quesinberry Phibbs. The viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville on Friday evening, June 16. There will be a graveside service held at the Quesinberry-Semones Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 17.

LEE, Charles Winford, 58, of Roanoke passed away Tuesday, June 13, 1995. Survivors include one daughter, Ruby Lee; one sister, Helen Lee, both of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Tameka Lee, Roanoke, and Tammy Lee, Greensboro, N.C.; and other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held Friday 1 p.m., at the Williams Memorial Park. Rev. Ulas N. Broady will officiate. LEONARD, Donald Ray, 48, of Marion, died Wednesday morning in Smyth County Community Hospital. He graduated from Marion High School in 1965, and from Virginia Tech in 1969 with Bachelor and Master degrees in Chemical Engineering. He was employed by Olin Chemical Engineering Co. in Charleston, Tenn. for 21 years. He was a member of the Keith Methodist Church in Athens, Tenn. He is survived by his wife, Donna Mangin Leonard, Athens, Tenn.; one son, Daniel Leonard, Athens, Tenn.; his mother, Ruth Leonard, Marion; and one sister, Elizabeth Baker, Lancaster, S.C. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, 1995, in Barnett's Marion Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tim Boyette officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at Barnett's Funeral Chapel.

SHOMO, Willis Delbert, 84, of Pearisburg, died Tuesday, June 13, 1995. He was a member and Elder of the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church, Past Master of Giles Masonic Lodge #106, Past President of the Pearisburg Kiwanis Club, Past Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis Club and Assistant State Director of the AARP. Mr. Shomo was born in Hambleton, W. Va. on May 7, 1911 and was a son of the late William and Anna Combs Shomo. He was retired from the Hoechst-Celanese Corp. He is survived by his wife, Viola Bracken Shomo of Pearisburg; three sons, Ronald E. Shomo of Dover of Delaware, Willis D. Shomo Jr. Coral Springs, Fla., and Charles G. Shomo of Pulaski; one sister, Lena Vandergift of Martinsburg, W. Va.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 16, 1995 at 2 p.m. in the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Alan H arvey officiating, with burial in Birchlawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church.

STANLEY, Charles, (``Jack''), 63, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, June 13, 1995, in a local hospital. He was a draftsman for John W. Hancock. Mr. Stanley was a member of the Lakeland Masonic Lodge #190 AF & AM and a member of the Kazim Temple Clown Unit. Jack had an outgoing personality, was a friend to all and never met a stranger. Surviving are his wife, Sherry A. Stanley; son and daughter-in-law, Charles A. (``Chuck'') and Cindy Stanley; daughter, Tammie L. Stanley, all of Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth (``Sunnie'') and Woody Bates, Atlanta, Ga.; aunt, Wee Ann Painter, Decauter, Ga.; aunt and uncle, Helen and Kenneth Koetitz, California; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Linda and Buford Brown, Covington; several nieces and nephews, including Shannon Cline and Debon Brown of Covington. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 3 p.m. Friday with the Rev. John Dunstan officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park, with masonic grave rites. SWITZER, Kitty S., 65, of Moneta, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 1995. Graveside services 11 a.m. Friday, Holy Land USA Cemetery. Arrangements by Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.

WOODWARD, Fred Victor Jr., 66, of Brevard, North Carolina, died June 13, 1995, at Pardee Memorial Hospital, located in Hendersonville, N.C., after a period of declining health. Mr. Woodward was born April 1, 1929 in Powhatan, Va. He was the younger son of the late Fred V. Woodward Sr. and Nancy Seabright Woodward. He attended Virginia Episcopal School, Lynchburg, Va. and earned a B.S. Degree in Forestry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Va. While in college he also graduated from the National Smokejumpers School in Missoula, Montana and served in Montana and Idaho. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 32nd Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army. In 1990 Mr. Woodward retired from the U.S. Forest Service after 38 years as a U.S. Forester. During his career he held positions in three Virginia ranger districts, The Grandfather Ranger District, N.C., and as assistant work programs coordinator at Schenck Job Corps in Pisgah National Forest, N.C. He was a member of the Sierra Club and the Audobon Society and took an active interest in many conservation and enviromental issues and was widely known to have had an exceptionally ""green thumb"". He was a member of the Parish of St. Phillip's Episcopal Church in Brevard, N.C. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Patricia Smith Woodward; a son, Fred V. Woodward III, Brevard, N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy W. Walker, Etowah, N.C.; adopted mother, Mrs. Ellenor R. Ogg; and adopted sister, Mrs. Mary Ann O. Simpkins, both of Radford, Va.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Agnus A. Woodward, Bridgeton, N.J.; and two granddaughters, Kayla and Kelsey. A memorial service will be held at St. Phillip's Church on Thursday, June 22, 1995 at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Merrill C. Miller officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Silvermont, located on Main Street in Brevard, N.C. The cremated remains will be interred in the cemetery of St. Pauls-In-The-Valley, Brevard, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boy's Home, 306 Boy's Home Road, Covington, Va. 24426, and will be designated for the Educational Scholarship Fund.
