"It will be a form of role playing where people will be split into groups and asked to come up with their own ideas for a balanced budget," said Goodlatte spokesman Doug Clark.
The conference will take place Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the cafeteria at Roanoke's Patrick Henry High School. Participants, in the role of Congress members up for re-election, must devise a plan that will balance the budget by the year 2000.
Goodlatte will give a brief overview of the federal budget process. Afterward, participants will present their balanced-budget plans and will have an opportunity to talk with Goodlatte.
Those interested in attending may call Goodlatte's Roanoke district office at 857-2672.
