BRILLHART, Doris M. Lowry, 86, of Catawba Valley for over 60 years, passed away Saturday June 17, 1995, at the Richfield Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Suel S. Brillhart. She is survived by two foster sons, Raymond Dewease and special friend, Trevia Moses, Christiansburg, and Wesley Hall, Roanoke; four sisters, Mrs. Nettie (Lowry) Lucas, Mrs. Anna (Lowry) Roberts, Mrs. Frances (Lowry) Clifton and husband Emory, and Mrs. Lucy (Lowry) Maurer; one brother, Mr. William N. Lowry and wife Marie, all form the Roanoke/Salem area; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brillhart was a member of the Shilo Methodist Church of Catawba. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 1995, at 2 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. R.C. Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. CONNER, Leander Vaten, (``Lee""), 75, of Roanoke, died Saturday, June 17, 1995. During World War II Lee worked with Glen L. Martin Aircraft building airplanes. He retired from construction and carpentry after many years as the owner of Conner Cabinet Shop. He was a member of Garden City Baptist Church and served as a past deacon. He is survived by his wife, Christine Howell Conner; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila C. and Danny W. HARTMAN, Evelyn Waldron, 87, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, June 18, 1995. She was a lifetime member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Montvale and was the widow of Lester Clifton Hartman. Born in Montgomery Co. on October 2, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Harry T. and Carrie Elliott Long. Miss Long retired from Virginia Tech Food Service Department. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rachel L. Elmore and Allie L. Pearman and one brother, Leon P. Long. Surviving are one brother and sister-in-law, Albert T. and Mary Long, Christiansburg; seven nieces and three nephews. He was a member of the Sibert Masonic Lodge AF & AM of Gatun, Rep. of Panama. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy with 30 years service before retiring in 1971; and was a Duplicate Bridge Life Master; he attended the Emory United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Natalie H. Maiden, Meadowview; one daughter, Dianne Swafford, Millville, Mass.; two sons, W.R. Swafford, Gales Ferry, Conn., Benjamin Swafford, Raleigh, N.C.; one step daughter, Terry M. Wilkinson, Roanoke; two step sons, John P. Maiden Jr., Abingdon, Timothy C. Maiden, El Paso, Texas; one sister, Nevada Burke, Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one nephew. TIGNOR, Mary C., 62, of Roanoke, was born into earthly life March 26, 1933 and was born into eternal life Saturday, June 17, 1995. She was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church and was a charter member and past matron of Etta Chapter #185 O.E.S. and was serving as Electra at the time of her death. Mrs. Tignor was a former Cub Scout Den Mother, a former volunteer at Lewis Gale Hospital and was currently serving as a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospice. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, Albert H. Tignor of Roanoke; sons, Dennis E. Tignor and his wife Judy Tignor of Gastonia, N.C., David (Tigger) Tignor of Roanoke; sister, Ann Akers of Richmond; brother, Edwin L. Cullingsworth Jr. of Richmond; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be from Cave Spring Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Dr. Woodrow W. Clark officiating. Interment to follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
