TEXAN A VICTIM OF STABBING

Roanoke police found a 28-year-old Texan stabbed in the back, chest and pelvis in the 2700 block of Shenandoah Avenue Northwest at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said William Paul DiMattei of Pasadena, Texas, told them he was abducted from an unknown location, tied up and driven to Shenandoah Avenue, where he was beaten, stabbed and robbed of $140. He said three men and two women were involved.

He was admitted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Police said DiMattei remained in intensive care Monday.
