The Mental Health Association of Roanoke Valley is accepting applications for the 13th annual Festival of Trees.
The festival, a display of decorated evergreens entered by area businesses and community organizations, will be held in Fitzpatrick Hall at downtown Roanoke's Jefferson Center Nov. 24-Dec. 23.
The 1995 festival's theme is ``A Roanoke Holiday.''
Last year almost 20,000 people visited the festival. Businesses and organizations that want to enter should call the association, 344-0931.
Virginia seniors pageant looking for talent
The Ms. Virginia Senior Citizen Pageant is seeking entrants for its Roanoke competition Aug. 24-26.
The competition includes a personal interview, evening gown, talent and fashion sense segments.
The winner will travel to the National Senior Citizen Pageant in Joliet, Ill., in October. The 1994 winner, Danice Hunt of Roanoke, was first runner-up at the national competition.
Deadline for entries is July 15.
