Roanoke adds parking for postal customers In an effort to increase on parking near the post office at Church Avenue and First Street, Roanoke has added three 15-minute parking spaces on the west side of First Street. The city also changed one-hour time limits on the meters of five parking spaces on the north side of Church Avenue to 30 minutes. The existing 30-minute spaces on the north side of Church Avenue have been changed to one-hour spaces to accomodate drivers with longer parking needs.

Good Shepherd offers a mom's day out program

Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool will offer a Mother's Day Out program Thursday mornings beginning in September, 9 a.m.-noon, for children 15 months to 2 years old. The program will run through May 1996.

The school will continue to offer its preschool program for children 2 to 5 years old, with an optional extended day for children 3 and 4 years old on Tuesdays, noon-1 p.m.

Salem Library seeks books for fund-raiser

The Friends of the Salem Library are looking for books for their annual Book Sale on Olde Salem Day, Sept. 9.

Proceeds from the sale pay for library activities and needs.
