ANGERMEIER, Maurice Lee, (Maurie) 69, of Salem, formerly of Evansville, Ind. and Rochester, N.Y. entered into eternal life on Wednesday, June 21, 1995. Mr. Angermeier was a graduate of the University of Evansville, was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Force and was a past officer of International Materials Handling Society. He was a member and usher at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church and was owner and sales representative for Angermeier Associates. Surviving are his wife, Agnita Lill Angermeier; his children and their spouses, Suzanne A. and Philip Weaver, Glenn E. and Lynn Angermeier, all of Greensboro, N.C., Lee L. and Linda Angermeier, Bob A. and Dee Angermeier, all of Summerfield, N.C., Marie A. and Mark Gliniecki, Roanoke, Amie and Robert Chernault, Boones Mill; 14 grandchildren, Jenny, Stacy, Cary, Justin, Kathryn, Kristen, Rachel, Maeghan, Lindsay, Wesley, Lisa, Robby, Timmy, and Baby to be; his brothers and their wives, James W. and Lois Angermeier, Wilfred C. and Marjorie Angermeier, all of Evansville, Ind.; his father-in-law, J. Lloyd Lill Sr., Rochester, N.Y.; his sisters-in-law and their spouses, Sister Clara Mae Lill, R.C., East Bank, W.Va., Joan and Ray Meier, Rosemary and Jerry Graves, all of Rochester, N.Y.; a brother-in-law and his wife, J. Lloyd Lill Jr. Ph.D. and Mary, Canandaigua, N.Y.; also nieces, nephews, cousins, great-aunts and uncles and numerous friends. Our father will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. A mass memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church Sunday, June 25, 1995, at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Stofft officiating. A private crytpside service will be held Monday at St. Andrew' s Diocesan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials masses and contributions to Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church in Maurie's memory. Oakey's South Chapel handling funeral arrangements.

CARTER, Doris E. of Roanoke passed away Thursday, June 22, 1995 in a local hospital. She was a retired employee of the Appalachian Power Company, a member of the Eastern Star and Belmont Christian Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Berry T. Carter Jr.; surviving are a sister, Mrs. Christine Mitchell; a brother, Wendell R. Carter, both of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Mrs. Betty Carter, Leeds, Ala.; one nephew, Gary E. Mitchell, Roanoke; two nieces, Leigh Ellen Carter, Washington, D.C., Lynn Dorough, Birmingham, Ala.; great niece, Amy Smith, Birmingham, Ala.; two great-nephews, Scott Mitchell, Shaun Mitchell, both of Roanoke; special friend, Emmett E. Tucker, Jr., Roanoke. Funeral services will be at Oakey's North Chapel, 11:30 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Michael Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. EGGLESTON, John Leonard Sr., 64, of Moneta, died Wednesday, June 21, 1995, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He leaves to mourn, his beloved wife, Lois R. Eggleston; two sons, John L. Eggleston Jr., Rodney L. Eggleston; two daughters, Mary Eggleston Ray, Michelle D. Eggleston; two brothers, Frank Eggleston, Robert Eggleston; one daughter-in-law, Brenda B. Eggleston; one son-in-law, Lewis E. Ray; seven grandchildren; and a very special friend, Keith Michael. Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 25, 1995, Emmanuel Tabernacle Alpotic Faith, Moneta. ELLIS, May Downs, 83, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, June 21, 1995, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of William Robert Ellis and was a graduate of Longwood College with a B.A. and the University of Virginia with a M.A. Mrs. Ellis was a former school teacher at Montvale and a retired Social Worker for the City of Roanoke. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilford Downs and Charles Downs and a sister, Julia Tyler Owens. Surviving include her daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Myles Judd of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and H. Cherrill Ellis of New Haven, Conn., William and Carol Ann Ellis of Conyngham, Penn.; nephew, Benjamin Owens of Raleigh, N.C.; niece, Sally Owen s of Arlington; six grandchildren, Robert Ellis, Elizabeth Ellis, William McClellan, Laura Lynch, Andrew McClellan, Charles McClellan; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Mancill, Rachel Lynch; two brothers, John Downs of Dayton, Ohio, Hunton Downs of Berg Gladbach, Germany. A memorial service will be at St. John's Episcopal Church 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Lottie Cochran and the Rev. Melvin Maxey officiating. GUNN, James Arnette, (``Peter Gun""), 46, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 1995. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Flint Sr.; brother, Homer Flint Jr.; and a sister, Leslie Flint. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Theresa and Carlton Harden, Danville; one son, James (Rhonda) Lavender; one daughter, Angela Lavender; ex-wife, Tenia Lavender Gunn; sisters, Sylvia Gunn, Theresa (Richard Jr.) Smith, Sandra Haley all of Roanoke, Pearlene Gunn, Richmond, JoAnn Ruben, Karen Flint, and Constance Flint, all of Roanoke; brother, Booker T. (Alice) King Jr., Clifton (Brenda) Gunn, William Flint all of Roanoke, Robert (Phyllis) Flint, Landover, Md., Michael Flint, James Flint both of Roanoke and Jeffrey (Traci e) Flint, Landover, Md.; three grandchildren, Dante' Lavender, Tiondra Robinson, and Jameako Cobbs all of Roanoke; one aunt, Mrs. Constance Walker, Roanoke; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. HAWKES, Mattie Ackerly, 86, of Lexington, died Saturday, June 17, 1995, at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Born June 9, 1909, in Rockbridge Co., she was the daughter of the late Joe Reid and Emma Frances Holt Reid. She was a former member of Oxford Presbyterian Church and was the widow of Oscar V. Hawkes. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Pauline A. VanNess. Surviving are two daughters, Christine A. Frazier, Lexington, Jean A. Kellam, Richmond; one sister, Helen R. McDaniel, Chesterfield; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 1995 at the Oxford Presbyterian Church with the Rev. JONES, Billy J., (``Jack""), 63, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, June 21, 1995, in Lewis-Gale Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Jones; one daughter, Deborah J. Coleman, Christiansburg; one son, Randy C. Jones, Christiansburg; his mother, Ruth V. Jones, Christiansburg. MOESCHLER, Maude, 93, of Salem, died Wednesday, June 21, 1995. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and had been employed by Swartz Enterprises and Camera Shop. Miss Moeschler was preceded in death eight sisters and one brother. Survivors include 12 nieces and nephews. ORTLINGHAUS, Richard H., 59, of Route 1, Catawba, died Wednesday, June 21, 1995, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Ortlinghaus; two sons, Curt Ortlinghaus, San Diego, Calif., Bill Ortlinghaus, White Mills, Pa.; one daughter, Ruth Ortlinghaus, Miquon, Pa.; a grandson, Harry Vasiliades. RENICK, James W., (``Jimmy""), 69, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 1995, in a local hospital. Mr. Renick was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Lakeland Masonic Lodge #190, the Scottish Rite, Kazim Temple and the Williamson Road Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and retired from the Roanoke City Police Department after 35 years of service. After his retirement he worked part time for the Roanoke City Sheriff's Deparment for ten years. Surviving are his wife, Mary H. Renick; sons and daughter-in-law, Barry and Kim Renick, Gary L. Renick, all of Roanoke; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky R. and Gary Meade, Dublin, Robin R. and David Jenkins, Roanoke; six grandchildren; stepmother, Marcenia Renick, Christiansburg; sister, Ruth C. Reich, Salem; brother-in-law, Thomas L. Hutson, Bedford County. The family request that memorials be made to the Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital, c/o Kazim Temple, 628 West Campbell Avenue, Roanoke, Va. 24016. SMITH, Willie Guilford, 83, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, June 19, 1995. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Smith. Mr. Smith was a Veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by two nephews, Charles (Helen) Franklin and Wilford Franklin, both of Roanoke; one grand-nephew, Charles Franklin Jr., Richmond; two grand-nieces, Dana Franklin Chambliss, Atlanta, Ga., Bernice Franklin, Texas; other relatives and friends. SOWERS, Edna Faye, 49, of Christiansburg, died Tuesday afternoon, June 20, 1995, in a Roanoke hospital. Surviving are her husband Clarence E. Sowers; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Ricky Vaden, Christiansburg; her parents, Luther T. and Mary Ruth Epperley, Blacksburg; a sister, Donna E. Price, Blacksburg; a brother, Mike Epperley, Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Ashley, Daniel and Amanda; and her mother-in-law, Violet Sowers, Christiansburg. STEVENS, Willard, 59, of Route 2, Green Mountain, N.C., formerly of Roanoke, died Thursday, June 22, 1995, in a Johnson City, Tenn. Medical Center. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Isaac and Bertha Whitson Stevens and was a retired truck driver. Surviving are three sisters, Carrie Riddle of Marshall, Lois Blevins of Burnesville, and Tilda Letterman of Marion, Md.; two brothers, Lloyd Stevens and Floyd Stevens, both of Green Mountain, N.C. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 1995, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home, Burnsville, N.C. The Revs. David Lee and Dorne Ayers will officiate. Burial will be in the Woody Cemetery on Ridge Road. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of Lloyd Stevens on Brush Creek Road.

TAYLOR, Minnie Myers, 75, of Austinville, died Thursday, June 22, 1995, at her home. WILLS, Doris Maybelle Thomas, 85, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, June 22, 1995. Mrs. Wills was a 1926 graduate of Jefferson High School and during World War II she worked for the War Department in Portsmouth, Va. She was an active lifetime member of West Minister Presbyterian Church in America and until recently, she had been active in T. O. P. S. for 20 years. She was a retired secretary from St. Paul Insurance Company and was the widow of Marion R. Wills. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Jean Wills, Vinton, Jim and Geri Wills, Columbia, S.C.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; her sister, Hilda T. Howard, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel Saturday, June 24, 1995, at 12 noon with the Rev. Jim Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
