ROTTWEILER SPOILS ABDUCTION TRY

A watchdog who looks out the window when she's home alone is being credited with saving one of her owners from an abduction.

Mickey, a 10-month-old Rottweiler who loves to lick and cuddle, was peeking out a window Thursday afternoon when she saw someone grab her owner, 17-year-old Dee Rafe, and begin dragging her toward a parking lot.

Rafe, who at first thought the assailant was a friend, screamed for Mickey when she realized she was in danger.

The dog jumped through the screen door and leaped on the assailant, biting him in the leg and on both arms.

``I knew she would run out,'' Rafe said. ``She knew something was wrong.''

Mickey drew blood from the assailant, but also suffered an eye injury when she was punched in the face and knocked to the ground by the suspect.

The man fled and is still at large, police said Sunday.

``I can't even believe it,'' Rafe said. ``If it wasn't for her, I probably wouldn't be here right now.''
