Doctorate in guitar
Classical guitarist Robert Trent, director of guitar and lute studies at Radford University, recently became the first and only person to receive a doctorate of Musical Arts in Guitar from the Peabody Conservatory of The John Hopkins University.
Trent has just completed a seven-state tour where he premiered recently-discovered Schubert works for piano and solo voice.
As a soloist, performer of chamber music and concerti, Trent has performed in North and South America and in Europe. He frequently performs on an original instrument from the early 19th century.
