MAN PLEADS INNOCENT TO 4 KILLINGS

A man who has admitted in published and broadcast interviews to killing four people in a neighborhood bar last summer pleaded innocent Monday to the slayings.

Michael D. Clagett, 33, entered the pleas as jury selection began in his capital murder trial, which is expected to last a week to 10 days.

Clagett and his girlfriend, Denise R. Holsinger, were arrested the day after the owner of the Witchduck Inn, two employees and a patron were found shot to death last June 30.

Clagett was a regular patron at the blue-collar bar, and Holsinger was a former waitress there.

Holsinger, 30, pleaded guilty May 1 to first-degree murder in the Witchduck Inn killings. She said she and Clagett planned to rob the bar after owner Lamvan Son fired her, but she contended that Clagett was the triggerman.
