A chart accompanying a Monday story about cable TV rates contained an error. The Cox Cable Roanoke rates for Vinton were mislabeled as being for Salem. The Salem area is served by another company, Salem Cable TV.

A story Saturday incorrectly reported the manner in which former city finance director Joel Schlanger will collect his $54,000 annual pension. Schlanger will be paid in monthly increments of $4,500.

Vinton Town Council's next meeting will be July 18. The date was incorrect in a story Sunday.

Also, a statement that animal control laws are strictly enforced in Vinton only if there are complaints was incorrectly attributed to Town Clerk Carolyn Ross. That information actually came from other officials quoted in a previous story.
