A charity golf tournament to benefit The Adult Care Center of Roanoke Valley will be held Friday at Countryside Golf Course.

The entry fee is $200 per team. Proceeds will benefit adult day care and programs for the the elderly in the community. For more information or to enter call 983-1026.

Star Green Team is soccer tourney runner-up

The Roanoke Stars Under 14 Green Team was runner-up in the Gold Division of the fourth annual Marietta Times Soccer Classic in Marietta, Ohio.

The Stars defeated the Liederkranz Strikers from Madison, Ohio and the Charleston Power of Charleston, W.Va. to advance to the championship.
