VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT TO GREET FRENCH

An organizational meeting will be held Thursday night at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church on Grandin Road for anyone interested in helping with a delegation of French citizens who will visit the Roanoke area in October.

About 50 people from St. Lo, Vire and other towns in the French region of Normandy will visit Roanoke to investigate setting up a sister-city relationship with communities in the Roanoke Valley.

Volunteers are needed to help prepare a reception for these visitors, who will spend four nights in the valley before traveling to Washington, D.C. People who speak French, including students and teachers, are especially welcome.

The meeting will begin at 7. For more information, call Bob Slaughter at 989-6512.
