Martinsville Speedway will pay $85,520 in the Taco Bell 300 on Oct.15, an increase of $17,000.
The winner still will receive $25,000, but places 3 through 36 will receive an additional $500, with last place earning $1,000.
``The greatest drivers in the NASCAR Late Model series come to Martinsville for our events, and we want to reward them for their efforts,'' said Clay Campbell, the speedway's president.
With more than 19,000 in attendance at the Miller Genuine Draft Late Model race in March, 135 cars entered to run for the division's biggest prize.
``Our first-stand alone Late Model Stock event in March was a huge success, and we feel these races will become even bigger,'' Campbell said.
Tickets for the event are $15 and can be purchased by writing the Martinsville Speedway ticket office, P.O. Box 3311, Martinsville, 24115 or by calling 703-956-3151.
