Adolph Coors Co., reported net income of $15.2 million, or 40 cents per share, on net sales of $399.5 million for its second quarter ended June 11, compared with year-earlier $23.9 million, or 63 cents per share, on net sales of $432.2 million. The Golden, Colo., brewer operating a bottling and distribution plant in Rockingham County reported net income of $15.3 million, or 40 cents per share, on net sales of $726.1 million for its first half year, compared with year-earlier $30.8 million, or 81 cents per share, on sales of $750.7 million.
Hillenbrand
Hillenbrand Industries, Batesville, Ind., owner of Medeco Security Locks Inc. and an electronics division at Salem, reported net income of $27.8 million, or 39 cents per share, on revenue of $404.9 million for its second quarter ended June 3, compared with year-earlier $32.8 million, or 46 cents per share, on revenues of $382.7 million. For the first half year, net income was $55.3 million, or 78 cents per share, on revenue of $801.1 million, compared with year-earlier $70.4 million, or 99 cents per share, on revenues of $760.1 million.
Morrison
Morrison Restaurants Inc., Mobile, Ala.-based operator of the Morrison's Cafeteria in Roanoke, reported net income of $62.2 million, or $1.73 per share, on sales of $1.04 billion for its fiscal year ended June 3, compared with year-earlier $44.7 million, or $1.20 per share, on sales of $1.21 billion. For its fourth quarter, net income was $12.4 million, or 35 cents per share, on sales of $269.4 million, compared with year-earlier $12.2 million, or 33 cents per share, on sales of $310.9 million.
