Cheryl Ann Johnson, 47, was pronounced dead of head injuries shortly after being taken to Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
Her husband, Charles Johnson, 47, was treated at Washington Hospital and released.
Cheryl Johnson was driving the truck, pulling a travel trailer that she and her husband were using on their vacation. They were headed north on Interstate 79 when she became startled by a loud noise, police said. She jerked the truck, causing it to swerve onto the berm.
As Cheryl Johnson tried to get the truck back onto the road, the trailer started to flip, causing the truck to overturn. The trailer and truck separated, and witnesses said the vehicle rolled over several more times before coming to rest on its roof across the southbound lanes.
Police said Cheryl Johnson had just taken over driving the truck. at the Lone Pine rest area, about two miles south of the accident scene.
Southbound traffic on the interstate was stopped for about two hours between the accident scene and the south junction with Interstate 70.
