POLICE IDENTIFY DROWNED MAN

Roanoke police have identified the man who died Wednesday in an apartment complex swimming pool. An autopsy Thursday confirmed that Larry Hubert Lawless, 39, of the 800 block of Marshall Avenue Southwest drowned.

Neighbors pulled Lawless out of the pool at Camden Court Apartments on Westover Avenue Southwest just after 10 p.m. Wednesday. Lawless was pronounced dead on arrival at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He and a friend who lives at the apartment complex had been swimming after the pool had closed for the night.
